All Administrative Volunteers and CASA Guardian ad Litem's must undergo a $25.00 background check and $5.00 fingerprinting. When we recieve your application, a member of our staff will contact you regarding the next steps for a background check.
   

 

 Current Volunteer Opportunities
Department: Administration
Position: Office Assistant
Description: Covering the front desk when there are all staff meetings or events. This person will answer the phone, greet walk in clients and perform small office tasks unsupervised.
Department: CASA
Position: Filing
Description: Our CASA department needs assistance with the paperwork that is generated from cases. This person would need to devote an hour a week to come into the office to file the paperwork for that week in the apropriate case files.

Position: Scanning
Description: In an effort to permanently store files more securely, we are in the process of scanning older case files onto our server. This person would need to devote 2 hours a week to come in and spend time scanning files and labeling them on the hard drive.

Position: Mail
Description: All cases have information that needs to be communicated to our Guardian ad Litems and Volunteer attorneys. This person would be e-mailing and mailing documents out to those involved in the cases. This would be a 2 hour a week position.

Position: General Administration
Description: All case files need to be opened, and closed when they are finished. This position would be 2 hours a week of completing paperwork, as well as assisting with the other CASA administrative tasks such as filing, scanning and mailing depending on the workload for the week.

Description:

Position: Parent Group Meeting (PGM) Coordinator
Description:
Families First offers families monthly Parent Group Meetings (PGMs).  PGMs are family events that reduce isolation by providing education and opportunities for families to connect with one another, and offer exposure to experiences and attractions that families may not afford otherwise.  The PGM coordinator will work with staff to plan and implement family events.  The estimated time commitment for this position varies (1hr. to 5+ per month)
depending on the type of event that is planned.

Position: Parent Educator Aid 
Description: Families First has launched classes with partner agencies in the community. 
The Parent Educator Aid will assist the Parent Educator in planning and delivering fun and educational weekly, semi-monthly or monthly lessons/activities.  These classes are innovative, a lot fun and offer a great way to directly serve children and families of various backgrounds.  Class locations vary, and include sites such as resettlement agencies, clinics, schools, apartment complexes, and more!

Position: Child Care Coordinator

Description: Grow your management and administrative skills while managing a child care program for Families First!  The child care coordinator will assist Families First in recruiting, orienting and managing child care volunteers (also known as activity leaders) for Parent Group Meetings.  The child care coordinator will be encouraged to create a “carry-and-go” activity bin that contains materials and supplies volunteers will need to lead simple, yet entertaining activities with the children.  The child care coordinator can also participate in child care activities!

Position: Activity Leader
Description: Bring out your inner child and assist Families First in one of the most exciting jobs; playing with children to help them develop to their full potential and get ready for school!  Activity leaders will be in charge of spending time with children and supervising them by playing, reading, and/or leading a planned arts&craft activity while parents attend a workshop.  The need for activity leaders arises each month and the estimated time commitment is 2 hours per event.
