Terrie Havis

Secretary and

Immediate Past President

I grew up in Eastern Idaho (Idaho Falls) and moved to Boise 34 years ago. I’ve been employed in various roles at Blue Cross of Idaho for the last 34 years. Currently, my position is the Director of Sales Support Services and I LOVE my job. I attended BSU, supported the Broncos before they were “cool” and I graduated with a BA in Management and Organization Leadership from George Fox University. I served on the Board of Directors for the Polly Bemis Ranch, a non-profit corporation formed to provide wilderness recreational opportunities for the Ranch’s member/owners. Blue Cross of Idaho is very involved in supporting United Way and I have been very involved in the Planning Committee responsible for our annual United Way fundraising campaigns. In 2001, I was recognized as a TWIN honoree in the Women and Children’s Alliance (WCA) Tribute to Women in Industry. I have volunteered for many organizations and events including the WCA, the Idaho Food Bank, Idaho Humane Society, Paint the Town, Rake up Boise and the now defunct Boise River Festival. In my leisure time, I enjoy downhill skiing (yep…got both a Bogus Basin Pass and a Sun Valley Card), fishing, golf, gardening and almost anything you can do outdoors. I am not married (but have an awesome boyfriend) and have no children of my own. I think that is why volunteering for Family Advocates is so important to me, I think I need a channel for my “maternal” instinct. I am passionate about protecting or speaking up for those who are unable to do so for themselves. Family Advocates is an amazing organization and I am proud to be a part of it.
